Mark Wysocki, DVM
 Dr. Mark Wysocki grew up in Dearborn, MI, and graduated from Michigan State University in 1983. He completed an internship in Springfield, MA, and was in private practice on Cape Cod, MA, Baltimore, MD, and Greenville, SC , before settling (for good) in the Asheville area.
Veterinary medicine is the perfect blend of his interest in science and love of animals. He receives great satisfaction from being able to comfort his clients by helping their four-legged family get well and stay healthy.
Dr. Wysocki enjoys exercising at the YMCA, outdoor activities with his family, and relaxing with a good movie or sports on TV at the end of the day. His wife is our Hospital Administrator, Diane, and his three children are his 13-year-old son, Kyle, and his 10-year-old twin girls, Joy and Emily.
Diane Wysocki Hospital Administrator
Diane is originally from Cape Cod, MA, where she earned her associates degree as a legal secretary, a career which she held for 20 years prior to starting the practice she and Dr. Wysocki have here today. In the early stages of the practice, Diane spent many hours doing all the behind the scenes work. Today Diane is our Hospital Administrator. She handles all the financial matters of the hospital, including bookkeeping, payroll and taxes. She also works with our Office Manager to ensure the office runs efficiently.
She enjoys walks in the mountains with her family, yoga, needlework, crafts, reading and movies. She met and married Dr. Wysocki in Massachusetts. They now have 3 children (mentioned above), 2 cats, "Gandalf" and "Sherbert".
Heather D. Office Manager
Heather began working at ACPH in April 2002 as our receptionist. With her enthusiasm and knowledge, she has become invaluable as the team's office manager. She assists in keeping the day-to-day workings of the hospital flowing s moothly as well as handling client concerns. Although she is no longer regularly at the front desk, she still enjoys and intends t o c ontinue her contact with both clients and patients.
Heather lives in Arden with her husband of 8 years. They have a beautiful 7-year-old daughter, Cara. She and her husband are hugeCarolina Tarheel fans. Heather enjoys taking pictures and spending time outdoors. When she gets a chance, she visits her hometown in Western, NY. Another love of Heather's is her pets. She has a dog named "Turbo", and 3 cats: "Chumlee", "Cecil" and "Puffer Girl".
Karen H. Receptionist
 Karen's position at ACPH is at the front desk were she answers your questions, assist s clients with purchases and schedules appointments. She is always happy to help you and your pets have a caring and loving experience at our office.
Karen is a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in West Asheville. She has a son, a daughter, a 8-year-old grandson and one cat named "Oscar" that rules her home. In her spare time, she likes to hike, watch her grandson play soccer and hang out with friends and family. Even though Karen is a native of Asheville, she still loves to explore the area. She has also been trying her hand at golf, but still hasn't decided to go on tour yet.
Mary B. Receptionist Mary works here at ACPH as our Receptionist on Saturdays. She also makes sure all the plants in the office get the same care as our patients. Mary has a varied background in canine care, including training, confirmation, obedience and tracking. She has worked in public and private kennels as well as in the animal health care field for several years. She believes there is something unique about every pet/client team and seeks to promote health and happiness.
Mary was introduced to Asheville and the mountains as a teenager, and she told herself, "Someday I will live here." And for the past 20 years, she has. Her hobbies include reading, tending to her houseplants (which includes an "heirloom" African Violet collection). She enjoys long walks with her K9 companions, Lily Belle and Chickadee.
Bailey B. RVT
Bailey B is part of our technical staff and has been a member of the Avery Creek Pet Hospital family since 2006. Th is talented individual graduated number one in her class at Asheville Buncombe Technical College in 2009. She was 1 of 10 nationwide awarded the Sue Bush Memorial Scholarship Award and completed a lengthy working internship in Kanab, Utah at the famous Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Bailey is very rescue and rehabilitation oriented and is known for her work in this aspect of medicine. Her particular specialties in this practice besides the full spectrum of technical work includes a keen interest in dentistry, surgical nursing, anesthesiology, client education, as well as special needs and geriatric patients.
Bailey enjoys working with both large and small animals and all those in between. She does so by also working at Appalachian Animal Hospital a mixed animal practice in Weaverville. In addition to being an instructor of Large Animal Clinical Practices at Asheville-Buncombe Technical College in Asheville.
This busy lady shares her home with 9 pets. Dogs: Amos, Maybe, Mona, and Tina. Cats: Twitch, Tess, Tulla Tae, and Bigin. Horse: E.B. Bailey absolutely loves mountain living and being outdoors. Her favorite past times include riding horses in many events from team roping to eventing along with traveling, swimming, canoeing, hiking, and cooking.
Ava B. Veterinary Technician Assistant Ava is a veterinary technician assistant at Avery Creek Pet Hospital. She moved to Asheville from Wilmington, NC to attend UNC-Asheville in 2006 and graduated with a B.S. in environmental studies in May 2011. In September 2007, she joined our staff part time while going to school full time. Ava assists in an array of procedures here at Avery Creek from handling patients to scrubbing in for orthopedic surgeries. She has a special interest in wildlife rehabilitation and has worked with both terrestrial and aquatic animals. In the summer of 2009, she interned at a sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation center on the North Carolina coast. Ava lives with her two dogs, Lily and Stella and her boyfriend, Robin. When she isn’t helping animals, she enjoys takings her dogs on hikes, camping, riding her bike, traveling and going to see live music. She is currently pursuing veterinary school.
