Dr. Mark Wysocki grew up in Dearborn, Michigan.
His family had Boxers, Saint Bernards, and an English Bulldog, as well as a rabbit, parrot, and several parakeets. His grandfather started the first pet ambulance service in the country with the Michigan Humane Society in the 1950s, so his love of animals must be genetic. He always did well in math and science, so veterinary medicine seemed like the perfect combination for him as a career.
Dr. Wysocki graduated from Michigan State University in 1983 and, following vet school, completed a small animal internship in Springfield, Massachusetts. He practiced on Cape Cod for 10 years. That is where he met his wife, Diane. They moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where he practiced emergency medicine for several years. From there, they moved to Greenville, South Carolina, where they lived for 5 years before finally settling in Arden and starting his own practice.
When not at work, he enjoys exercising at the YMCA and has recently started rowing with the Asheville Rowing Club. He has three children (Kyle and the twins, Joy and Emily) as well as three cats.
